The weak housing and stock markets have meant consumers are not feeling all that "confident" these days. But consumer confidence could get a lift, after the Federal Reserve today (Sept. 18th) makes what is expected to be a quarter-point reduction in a key interest rate. That's good news for Central Florida's tourism industry, ,which relies heavily on consumer confidence. 90.7 Economist Dr. Hank Fishkind explained to David Pitman what consumer confidence is and how it affects the local economy.
